Republic City--I've been living there for a little while now. But before that, I was from the Southern Water Tribe. Not that...you'd know where those are, I guess.

Nah, but I can tell you're fond of 'em and that's enough.

What's it fuckin' like there? Is the city a large one?

It's pretty big. One of the most industrialized places around, actually. Before Republic City, I'd never seen so many satomobiles or airships in one place.

What about you? What city are you from?

Satomobiles...

[he's heard many things about airships, spacecrafts; a fleet of them. not by folk in his time, however.]

Japan's the country I live in; Kantou is the region. It's a small city there, all the typical amenities, jammed with fucking people.

They're... oh, I think you guys call them cars around here? They're something like that.

My friend's dad was the one who invented them back home.

Your friend's dad invented your guys' cars—jesus, capitalize on that somehow, 'cause you'd be crazy not to.

We got all sorts of crazy fucking things now. Sleek aerodynamic ones, with doors that open up instead of out, y'know.

Well, he's made a bunch of other things, too, but the satomobile's the one he's known for.

[She's just not going to go into how he ended up being a jerk of epic proportions.]

The doors open up? [She sounds curious.] Does that make it easier to get in or something?

No it just looks flashy as fuck, for rich show-off celebrities and douche-bags.

[this boy prefers jeeps that can crash around on uneven terrain and screech into restricted areas to do donuts.]

I didn't think you had that kind of technology, what with your outfit and all.

[braavado]

My outfit...? [Korra glances down at said outfit, puzzled.]

What does my outfit have to do with technology?

Well, you look like a nomad, for one.

[nodding to her.]

That kinda' clothing is typical of an older generation, in my world.

[braavado]

We do have air nomads in my world, but they mostly wear orange and yellow as their colors.

[There's some amusement in her voice as she talks.]

I did tell you I'm not a city girl. If you wanted to see something more fashionable, you'd have to see my friend Asami.

Your sash, or whatever it is... is that real fur?

Yup. Us folks from the Water Tribe are in the North and South Poles so we use the furs to keep us warm.

Why?

[slushfund]

I have a fur coat, back home. It was the only coat I wore in the winter—down-filled, as well.

[chic as hell]

Of course I can't expect much of this place. All that's leftover here are like something out of a thrift store.

[braavado]

[Hmmm. She thinks for a second.]

If you're cold, I've got a large rabbit pelt you can use to sew onto a jacket or something. It's just sitting in my room collecting dust right now.

Yeah, actually. I could use that.

Great! I'll bring it over to you or something.

[A pause, somewhat suspicious.]

Actually, I should probably warn you first--it might not look like a normal rabbit pelt at first, unless you have giant rabbits in your world...

Giant rabbits... jesus christ. Now I'm just far more interested in it.

[She's waiting by the sign whenever he arrives!]

[it's simple enough to spot her, weaving around the last housing block to reach the billboard. thankfully, you can't miss her in all that blue. everything else is so desolate—nice to see some colour around, especially in someone so peppy.]

[a nod at her, rifle strapped back harmlessly. hiruma stops a couple of metres, out of her personal space.]

[Korra responds automatically, with a smile. She holds out the pelt for him--it's been folded up, but if he shakes it open, he'll see what she meant about the size. It had definitely been a huge rabbit of some sort.]

[hiruma can already tell this thing is massive, by the thickness of it when he takes it off of her with little hesitation—god, it's dense, and the fur's already far warmer than he thought it'd be.]

There's really no catch to this?

[She blinks at him, then frowns a little.]

Typically when people agree to teach me and give me gifts, there's a reason for it.
